This isn?t the first time fans have got hyped for this match-up only to see it busted up again. When JDS was the heavyweight champ, Alistair was set to challenge him for the title until he tested positive for elevated testosterone levels in a random drug dest prior to UFC 146.

UFC President Dana White tweeted that Mark Hunt vs. dos Santos doesn?t seem likely to happen though many fans called for it on Twitter and Hunt was interested in the fight.??Not looking good. Cigano vs. Overeem in the summer,? White tweeted.?It would appear that dos Santos is opting to wait for his grudge match against Overeem until it finally comes to fruition.

UFC 161

A few bouts were signed to UFC 161 taking place in Winnepeg, Canada including the main event an Interim Bantamweight Championship bout: Renan Barao vs. Eddie Wineland. UFC officials have confirmed the news.

Also added to the card a welterweight clash between Sean Pierson (13-6, MMA) and TJ Waldburger (16-7, MMA). Waldburger is coimng off of a technical submission win over Nick Catone at the TUF 16 Finale in December. Pierson has strung together back-to-back wins in his last two after losing two to Jake Ellenberger and Dong Hyun Kim.

Additionally, a lightweight battle between Sam Stout (19-8-1, MMA)?and Isaac Vallie-Flagg (14-3-1, MMA) who are both coming off of wins at UFC 156 were added to the card. Stout took home a unanimous decision victory over Caros Fodor and Vallie-Flagg impressed in his UFC debut besting Yves Edwards via split decision.

UFC 162

The UFC also confirmed top ranked middleweights Mark ?The Filipino Wrecking Machine? Munoz (12-3, MMA) and Tim Boetsch (16-5, MMA) will square off at a summer event to be held in Las Vegas, NV. It?s currently anticipated that the event featuring a UFC Middleweight Championship bout, Anderson Silva vs. Chris Weidman, is set to take place on July 6th.

Munoz returns to action after suffering a foot injury following his loss to Weidman at UFC on FUEL TV 4 last July. The TKO loss to Weidman snapped a 5 fight win streak for Munoz. Now fully recovered and ready to wage war, Munoz has a tough test ahead in Boetsch.

Boetsch will also look to rebound into the win column when he steps into the Octagon against Munoz. Boetsch is coming off of a loss to Constantinos Philippou that snapped a 4-fight win streak for him.

Also confirmed for the fight card, a light heavyweight matchup between Rafael Calvacante and Thiago Silva.

TUF Brasil 2 Finale

According to Sportv.com, Brazilian heavy hitter Erick Silva (14-3, 1NC, MMA) will face John Hathaway (17-1, MMA) in the The Ultimate Fighter Brasil season 2 Finale. Hathaway has grinded out most of wins with the UFC, winning all but one fight by way of decision. Silva has two first round finishes in the UFC. It could have been three, but Silva was disqualified for strikes to the back of the head in his fight against Carlo Prater at UFC 142. Though Silva is coming off of a loss to Jon Fitch at UFC 153, the battle did win Fight of the Night honors. The welterweight scrap is scheduled for June 8th.
